  • At last we are back home-looking at the photos we start remembering all of you and the nice time and hospitality we enjoyed in Delhi as well as Jaipur. Special greetings we send to your respected mother-she must be very proud of her sons being so much alike the never forgetting Mr. Harbhajan Singh.
I hope we stay in contact with each other and if ever you come to this side you are most welcome. Please pass on our greetings and thanks to Mr. Sood. He was ever fixed to answer our questions and help us to feel comfortable.
I feel, if a special Award was to be given, it should be given to the Singh Brothers and Mr. Sood.

  • I would like to congratulate you for your leadership in successfully organizing the 26th International Congress of NRIs. It must be an exhausting job.

I would like to thank the selection committee for selecting me for Hind Rattan Award. I enjoyed the festivities. All the staff members were very helpful. They also needed to be congratulated.

During our trip to Jaipur I observed most of the winners very closely. To be very blunt, I feel that some of the winners did not demonstrate the maturity that people expect from such persons. In my presence, one winner wanted to beat up the driver of a bus since he did not follow his order to go to the hotel with his family.

Being a university professor, I must be one of the poorest (in terms of money) winners of this award.Money should not be a major selection criterion. I know it very well that host countries in the middle east in particular do not treat NRIs very well, however, they pay them well. These NRIs, when they return to India for a visit, they also mistreat others.

The Congress was a big success in all respects. However I believe that there is a room for improvements in all efforts.

To attract younger people, you could initiate something for the rising ones.

  • Dear Mr Singh,

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to attend the 28th International Congress of NRIs. The conference was very well organized and everything was planned and executed in a very systematic way. The tour was thoroughly enjoyed.I am glad to be associated with this organization.

In my opinion the success of this conference depends largely on the attendance of the honourable ministers, chief guests and the members of the organization.

To increase the awareness and participation of all the members I would recommend that the minutes of the conference should be circulated through post and email followed by periodic updates on the issues raised during the conference.

I believe this organization has given an immense platform to share NRIs views with the government and hope to see some changes to the policies restricting the rights of NRIs.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.

    Thank you for your email.

The attendees had  very warm welcome and were very well attended at all times. The personal care and touch made the event very special. Highly professional invitees from round the globe , the dignitaries on dice , the VIPs , made the event very prestigious.

NRI Welfare Society is doing fantastic work and I wish them all the very best to materialise their vision and set up projects for the benefit of the community and country in partnership with professionals from all around the world.

  • Dear Mr.Gurinder Singh,family and team members,

Thank you for your mail which is very much appreciated.

Both my wife and I had a wonderful time in Delhi, especially at the Congress and Award Ceremony. You and your team did a wonderful job in making the entire programme a great scccess and our stay very comfortable.May God bless the good work started by your dad continue to progress under your able leadership.
We can overlook any flaws in the organisation if any when your team under your guidance did a tremendous  job overall.

    Suggestions:

Try to get the President of India to give out the Awards to enhance the prestige of the Award.(May be if the award ceremony could be held a little earlier than the eve of the Republic Day when everybody is busy.Tour of Jaipur can be completed and they can return to watch the parade and return home

I have already mentioned consideration of two additional awards in my speech,i.e,
An Award for NRI Youths, say between the ages of 20 to 40,especially in the field of IT,Sports.Community work,Music and Drama,Film Awards etc.

An Award for  NRI Ladies in ,Music,Dance who are Board Members of large companies and firms and for Community work etc.

Thank you.Warm Regards.God Bless you and your family.

Mr. & Mrs.P.K.Koshy and family. Singapore.

  • Hi Dear Gurinder singh,

You and your team did an awesome job. It was well organised. It is impossible to make any event without laps.  Especially when your are organising such a big event.

It was a very nice feeling that I got from this. I am grateful to you  for the work you all have done. Hope we can create a change by our small contributions in India. I will be glad to help you any work you do to promote health care especially Homeopathy in rural areas.

  • Dear Mr Gurinder Singh,

I was just about to write a letter to you, but received yours first.

I along with my family want to thank you profusely for all your efforts in organizing such a beautiful event honoring Non Resident Indians who have made  significant contributions all over the globe. I thank you for choosing me to be one of the the 2009 Hind Rattan Award recipients. I will always remember and cherish the experience. From the moment when we landed in Delhi till our departure, you, Mr Vijay Sood , and your team took care of all the details so we would not be inconvenienced in any manner. If there were occasional times of disorder, it is something that was beyond your control. In India getting this type of service, support, and care is not easy and you have certainly given it to us. We had an amazing experience in Jaipur as well. I can imagine how much organizing, pre planning, and networking it has taken to bring the event to fruition. It needs patience and hard work. I appreciate the cause and your selfless service. I am also aware of the seeds your dear father planted several years ago in support of NRI all over the world.

    Thank you.

I have some suggestions and I will certainly share them with you in another note.

Yes, we also received two other letters informing us of a similar event and potential award. Fortunately we sensed it was a scam to exploit us. We ignored it.

I will be in touch soon.

    Sincerely
    Malathi Iyengar

  • Greetings GurenderbhaiJi,

What a lovely time I had in my beloved India and made so many friends within NRI.  We have been emailing already.  Thank you for such a wonderful wonderful time.  Everything was truly lovely.  Everyone was lovely.

Please remember to let me know if you would like any assistence in putting together a network list of NRIs.  I know it will be a monumental task but very useful for all of us to know what each of us does and how to contact each other.  What a strong network NRIs could have then!

Sorry for the confusion about the driver at the hotel on my last night.  The concierge at the desk and I simply could not communicate effectively.  I had been told before leaving for Jaipur that they were charging my credit card for the driver to the airport and would have a driver ready but on that night they had not, so there was a confusion that we finally settled.  I am sorry they called you about it.    Please be well....

    Faithfully,
    Khadi

  • Dear Gurinderji and Vijayji:

     Namaste!!
I thank you all for your wonderful hospitality. I came to visit my country after many years, and I found so much love.

I request Vijay ji to please send me the booklet with our information and India pins for all four of us. We will treasure this.

If you come to USA, please come and stay with us.

    Namaste!!

  • Dear Gurinder Singh,

    Greetings.

Thousands of  NRIs  contribute tremendously in promoting the goodwill, image and Indian cultural values abroad. They  prove  to the  West that Indians are not less than any body in the world in terms of skills, technical know how, intelligence etc.  Your organization invites them to India and honours for their contributions in keeping the flag of India high.

On the other hand, after watching Slumdog Millionaire, I strongly felt that this movie infact slumps the very image of India in West. Making such a movie infact, I believe that, this movie has sold out Indian
poverty and  Mumbai slums to the West. Even the title of the movie appears derogatory "slumdog". Western film fratenity has honoured the movie with Oscar award, indicating and communicating categorically to the world that produce movies on Indian poverty and slum stuffs and they stand high chances to receive Oscar award from them. Bollywood producers and directors are doing samething.  I really hate such movies. These people have used guerilla online marketing in promoting this movie, which
    is poverty porn.

Who are true Indians? Which organizations and institutions portray and elevate Indian image and goodwill?  In that sense your organization has been doing great great job. One can see the contrast.

    Thanks
    Dr Joshi
